Turkey: Iron Ore Imports Down 6% M-o-M in Sept’17

The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey has recorded reduction of 6% M-o-M in iron ore imports to 0.81 MnT in Sep’17 against 0.86 MnT in Aug’17. It was also down by 6% Y-o-Y in Sept’17 against 0.86 MnT in Sept’16.

The Y-o-Y change from Jan-Sep’17 of the country has seen a rise of 6% to 8.22 MnT as compared to the same period previous year (Jan-Sep’16) to 7.73 MnT.

The non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a hike of 23% to 0.43 MnT in Sep’17 as against 0.35 MnT in Aug’17, while there was no change in Y-o-Y imports of Turkey in Sep’17 as compared to Sep’16.

Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) recorded a reduction of 24% M-o-M to 0.39 MnT in Sep’17 as against 0.51 MnT in Aug’17. It was down 9% Y-o-Y in Sep’17 to 0.39 as compared to Sep’16 which stood at 0.43 MnT.

Country-wise Turkey Iron Ore Imports:

Turkey continues to import its majority of iron ore from Brazil in Sept’17 and it stood at 0.34 MnT, followed by Russia 0.19 MnT and Sweden 0.16 MnT.
