The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed an increase of 53.25% M-o-M as it was 0.77 MnT in Oct’16. On the similar lines, Turkey iron ore imports shot up by the same percentile Y-o-Y as it was at 0.77 MnT in Nov’15 an equal amount of material for the month.
During the first 11 months of 2016, the country imported 9.68 MnT iron ore buying 4.46% more material with a marginal hike compared to the same period prior to this year at 9.27 MnT.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Nov’16 was registered at 0.64 MnT, significantly up 68.42% M-o-M and by 18% Y-o-Y. On the same lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.55 MnT, at 41.03% M-o-M and considerably up by 139.13% Y-o-Y.
Turkey’s iron ore import is chiefly from Brazil, Canada, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine and a new entrant for FY17 Venezuela. In Nov’16, the country imported from Brazil 0.57 MnT , Sweden 0.25 MnT , Canada 0.17 MnT , Ukraine 0.10 MnT , Venezuela 0.06 MnT and 0.03 MnT iron ore from Russia.
