The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed an increase of 39% M-o-M with 1.04 MnT iron ore as it was 0.75 MnT in Dec’16. Turkey iron ore imports increased Y-o-Y as well by 73% as it was at 0.60 MnT in Jan’16.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Jan’17 was registered at 0.55 MnT, considerably up by 30.64% M-o-M and significantly up by 62% Y-o-Y. On the same lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.48 MnT, up by both 50% M-o-M and 86% Y-o-Y.
Country’s iron ore imports were majorly from Brazil, Ukraine Sweden, Canada and Russia, In Jan’17, the country imported 0.51 MnT from Brazil, 0.25 MnT from Ukraine 0.16 from Sweden,0.08 MnT from Canada and 0.04 MnT from Russia.
