The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed a decrease of 7% M-o-M with 0.97 MnT iron ore as it was 1.04 MnT in Jan’17. Turkey iron ore imports were down Y-o-Y as well by 12% as it was at 1.10 MnT in Feb’17.
In the first 2 months of 2017, the country imported 2 MnT iron ore, up 18% as it was 1.7 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Feb’17 was registered at 0.51 MnT, marginally down by both 8% M-o-M and 15% Y-o-Y. On the same lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.46 MnT, down by both 6% M-o-M and 11% Y-o-Y.
Country’s iron ore imports were majorly from Brazil 0.34 MnT, South Africa 0.16 MnT, Sweden 0.16 MnT, Canada 0.09 MnT, Ukraine 0.04 MnT and Russia 0.03 MnT in Feb’17.
