According to the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) has imported 0.66 MnT in Aug’17 which was 0.63 MnT in Aug’16. Thus nation’s flat steel imports inched up by 5%,Y-o-Y basis in Aug’17 against similar time frame of previous year.
On monthly basis Turkey flat steel imports reported a downfall of 18% in Aug’17 when compared with 0.8 MnT in Jul’17.
During the first eight months of 2017,country’s flat steel imports declined by 8% to 5.05 MnT against 5.5 MnT in consecutive time frame of previous year.
Grade-Wise Turkey Flat steel Imports in Aug’17– HRC imports went down by 32% and CRC imports reported the rise of 57% on M-o-M basis in Aug’17.

Russia stood the largest flat steel exporter to Turkey in Aug’17-Russia was the major flat steel exporter to Turkey and has exported 0.14 MnT of flat steel in Aug’17.It accounted for 40.27% of share of imports from Jan-Aug’17.Other major flat steel exporting countries in Jan-Aug’17 includes Ukraine which stands at 8.99%,France 7.81% and South Korea at 5.54%.
