According to the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) have edged by 5% M-o-M to 0.61 MnT in Jan’17 as compared to previous month. In Dec’16 the same stood at 0.58 MnT.
On yearly comparison, Turkey flat steel imports plunged by whooping 16% in Jan’17 against 0.73 MnT in Jan’16 .
Notably, Turkey flat steel report 7.76 MnT in 2016, up by 1.4% against 7.65 MnT in 2015.
Grade-Wise Turkey Flat Steel imports in Jan’17
As per grade-wise analysis, 7208 imports surged by 1.76% M-o-M in Jan’17 against Dec’16 whereas other steel grades like 7209,7210, 7225 and 7212 have increased in Jan’17 against previous month.

Country-Wise Turkey Flat Steel imports in Jan’17
Russia was the major flat steel exporter and has shipped 2,22,94 MT flat steel to Turkey in Jan’17 against 18,88,544 MT of flat steel in Dec’16. Other major exporting countries include Brazil, South Korea, followed by China and Ukraine.
