As per the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils/Plates),7209 (CR coils) and 7225 (electrical sheets) declined by 2% to 0.46 MnT in Oct’16 compared to the previous month. In Sep’16, the country’s flat steel imports stood at 0.47 MnT.
If Y-o-Y comparison is done, then Turkey’s flat steel imports registered a significant fall of 19% in Oct’16 against 0.57 MnT in Oct’15.
During first ten months (Jan-Oct) of 2016 Turkey’s flat steel imports declined by 15% Y-o-Y to 5.57 MnT in contrast to 6.59 MnT in the corresponding time frame of previous year.
In Oct’16, Turkey imported major quantity of flat steel from countries namely – Russia, Ukraine followed by South Korea and France
