Turkish coal imports have increased 36% M-o-M to 3.44 MnT in Aug’19 against 2.53 MnT in Jul’19. Import volumes were also marked 14% higher on the year from 3.01 MnT in Aug’18.

However, a fall in coking coal receipt had eventually lowered Turkey’s coal sourcing from Australia. Otherwise, there was a significant rise noted in imports from major sources.
Turkey’s coking coal imports were down 43% M-o-M to 0.35 MnT in Aug’19 compared with 0.61 MnT in Jul’19.
