TNPL Invites Tender for Purchase of 600,000 MT Imported Non-coking Coal

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Paper Limited (TNPL), a producer of bagasse based eco-friendly paper, has emerged as the largest bagasse based paper mill in the world consuming about 1 MnT of bagasse every year

The company has invited the tender for purchase of 600,000 MT non-coking coal of foreign (Indonesian/ Australian/ South African/ Chinese) origin at TNPL Pugalur. The offer will be valid for 15 days from the date of e-auction or price bid opening.

Delivery period

The delivery of the first rack should start within 5 days of arrival of the vessel and the entire cargo should be delivered within 30 days of completion of vessel discharge

Total nine shipments are required from 1st week of Apr’16 to 3rd week of Nov’16,
out of which, six shipments will be of 70,000 MT and three shipments of 60,000 MT

1. GCV (air dried): 6,000 kcal/kg
2. Sulphur (air dried): 0.8% max
3. Total moisture (as received): 18%
4. Ash (air dried): 8% max
5. Volatile matter (air dried): 25-45%
6. Inherent moisture (air dried): Approx 10%
7. Initial deformation temperature: Above 1200^oC
8. Ash fusion temperature: Above 1,350^oC
9. Hard groove index: Less than 50
10. Fines Content (-3mm): 20% max
11. Coal size:0-50 mm

Qualifying criteria

1. The bidder should have supplied 600,000 MT coal to industrial unit in India in any one of the year from 2013 to 2015
2. The supply quantity should have been performed with vessel size of not less than 40,000 MT per shipment
3. The performance qualifying criteria is to be met by the party on whom the order is to be placed

TNPL’s another tender for the purchase of 24,000 MT South African non-coking coal

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Paper Limited (TNPL), has floated another tender of 24,000 MT non-coking coal, especially of South African origin.
