Thailand Steel Trade Statistics – Feb’20

As per the custom data maintained with SteelMint, semi finished imports by Thailand surged* by 41% M-o-M while ferrous scrap and finished steel imports by the country registered a sharp decline in Feb’20.

— Rebar, Wire Rod and Structural steel imports drifted down by 44.44% and were recorded at 0.05 MnT in Feb’20 as against 0.09 MnT in Jan’20. On a yearly basis, it dropped by 28.6% in Feb’20 as against 0.07 MnT in Feb’19.

— The nation’s finished flat steel imports fell by 15.9% to 0.53 MnT in Feb’20 as against 0.63 MnT in Jan’20. The same declined by 20% on Y-o-Y basis as against 0.67 MnT in Feb’19.

— Thailand’s Graphite Electrode imports rose by 32.4% to 661 MT in Feb’20 as against 499 MT in Jan’20. Also, the same enlarged by 568% Y-o-Y in Feb’20 as against 99 MT in Feb’19.
