Thailand’s steel imports of raw materials to finished steel products increased on monthly basis in Jan’20, as per the customs data maintained with SteelMint.
Ferrous Scrap- Thailand’s ferrous scrap imports were registered at 0.14 MnT, up by 27.3% M-o-M as against 0.11 MnT in Dec’19. Also, on an yearly basis, the same enlarged by 40% in Jan’20 as against 0.1 MnT in Jan’19.
Semi Finish- Billet/Pig iron imports were registered at 0.29 MnT up by 11.5% M-o-M as against 0.26 MnT in Dec’19, whereas on yearly basis, the import volume moved down by 42% in Jan’20 as compared to 0.5 MnT in Jan’19.
Finish Long Steel- Thailand’s finished long steel imports were registered at 0.09 MnT in Jan’20, up by 12.5% on both monthly and yearly basis as against 0.08 MnT in Dec’19 and Jan’19.
Finish Flat Steel- The country’s import volumes increased by 12.5% M-o-M to 0.63 MnT in Jan’20 against 0.56 MnT in Dec’19. The same declined by 10% on Y-o-Y basis as against 0.7 MnT in Jan’19.
Graphite Electrode- Thailand’s Graphite Electrode imports were registered at 499 MT, plunged by 38.2% M-o-M as against 807 MT in Dec’19. On yearly basis, the imports declined by 28.5% in Jan’20 as against 698 MT in Jan’19.
