Thailand: Steel billets imports drop 48%, m-o-m, in Aug’22

Thailand’s steel billet imports fell by 47.89% m-o-m to 129,506 t in Aug’22 from 248,510 t in July, as per customs data.
Japan was the major exporter at 94,666 t, followed by Malaysia at 10,928 t.
Cumulative import volumes decreased by 18% to 1.97 mnt in Jan-Aug’22 as against 2.41 mnt in the year-ago period.
