Thailand: Ferrous scrap imports rise 2% m-o-m in Aug’24

Thailand’s ferrous scrap imports rose 2% m-o-m to 108,296 t in Aug’24 from 106,094 t in Jul’24. Additionally, imports surged 20% y-o-y from 89,555 t in Aug’23.
During Jan-Aug’24, imports totalled 791,898 t, a 9% decline from 866,947 t in the CPLY.
The US emerged as the leading exporter to Thailand at 28,941 t, followed by Japan at 10,455 t and Canada at 9,520 t.
