Tata Steel achieved a milestone by successfully trialing biomass usage in ferro chrome production at its Athagarh plant in Odisha. This pioneering step aims to reduce carbon emissions by 6%, marking significant progress in the company’s sustainability journey. This move is expected to lower CO2 emissions by 0.08/t of ferro chrome.
