Tata Steel has recently shipped 1,800 tonnes (t) of TMT steel bars from Haldia Port in West Bengal to Pandu Port in Assam through the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol route (IBP) via the Brahmaputra river, as per company sources. The shipment marks the beginning of the use of multimodal logistics, which bolsters the company’s efforts to decarbonise the steel sector supply chain.
