Tata Begin Ferroshots Exports

Tata Ferroshots, Granulated Pig Iron, is a new product that was launched by Tata Steel, from its new steel plant at Kalinganagar in the month of march 2016.

The first exports consignment was flagged off by Mr Rajiv Kumar, VP-O ( Kalinganagar), Jajpur (Odisha) to a South East Asian Country on 23rd Aug’16.

Tata Ferroshots is granulated pig Iron solidified by cooling in water. The end use of Tata Ferroshots is in electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, cupolas, basic oxygen furnaces and foundries as a replacement of pig iron, scrap or DRI. Its inherent properties lead to better yield, higher productivity and lower energy cost.

Pig iron demands also get supported in line with rising exports due to expensive scrap & billet offers in global market. This in turn has pushed manufacturers to procure pig iron instead of high cost billet & scrap. Pig iron few exports deals concluded at USD 235-240/MT FOB.

It should be noted that Indian manufacturers this week increase pig iron offers by around INR 500/MT.
