Tamil Nadu’s power tariff hike to increase cost burden of industries

Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has raised power tariffs to INR 6.75/unit against INR 6.35/unit earlier. It has also revised demand charges from INR 3.50 to INR 5.50 per kilovolt ampere. The revised tariff rates are effective from 10 Sep’22. The rise in power tariffs will put additional cost burden on the industries, sources informed.
