Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports rise 13% m-o-m in Sep’24

In Sep’24, Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports touched 227,706 t, up 13% from 200,790 t in Aug’24. Compared to Sep’23 (284,876 t), volumes dropped by 20%.
In 9MCY’24, total scrap imports decreased by 11% y-o-y, totalling 2.1 mnt compared to 2.3 mnt in Jan-Sep’23.
The US remained the top supplier, accounting for nearly 45% of the total volume, followed by Japan, the Dominican Republic, and Canada.
