Taiwan’s leading stainless steel wire manufacturer, Walsin Lihwa, hiked prices of 300 series stainless steel wire by NT$3,000/t ($94/t) in March 2024, with 316L service charge up by NT$1,000/t ($31/t). Prices for 200 series and 400 series remained unchanged. The move was attributed to rising raw material costs like LME nickel and molybdenum, and anticipated market demand recovery.
