Taiwan: Taipower Floats Tender for Purchase of 560,000 MT Coal

The Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) is a state-owned electric power utility providing electric power to Taiwan and off-shore islands of Republic of China, has invited a global open tender for purchase of 560,000 MT of low ash and extra low sulphur sub-bituminous coal for Taipower thermal power plant from foreign coal mine owners, foreign coal producers, foreign and local agents and trading companies.

General conditions

1. Delivery period is from Oct’16 to Dec’16.
2. The material shall be shipped by 7 Panamax size vessels, each should carry 80,000 MT+/-10%.
3. Bidder may offer one or more than one shipment.
4. The bid bond is USD 80,000 or TWD 2,512,000 per shipment.
5. The bidder proposing coal mine with the origin of Indonesia is requested to provide in the technical and commercial proposal a copy of ET batubara issued by ministry of trade of the republic of Indonesia.

Total moisture (as received): 30% max
Ash content (air dried): 6% max
Sulphur content (air dried): 0.2% max
Volatile matter (air dried): 28 min
Fixed carbon (air dried): 60% max
Mercury content (dry basis): 0.12 mg/kg max
