Taiwan, the world’s sixth largest iron ore importer has imported 2.15 MnT iron ore in Oct’16, according to the trade statistics released by Taiwan customs.
Iron ore imports have witnessed a growth of 41% M-o-M as it was 1.53 MnT in Sept’16. On similar lines, Taiwan iron ore imports increased by 37% Y-o-Y.
During the first 10 months of 2016, the country imported 18.84 MnT iron ore, up by 7.4% Y-o-Y as it was 17.53 MnT in the same period prior this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Oct’16 was registered at 1.88 MnT, Up by 31% M-o-M and 20% Y-o-Y. However, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.27 MnT, significantly up by 200% M-o-M and 100% on Y-o-Y.
