Taiwan, the world’s sixth largest iron ore importer has imported 2.39 MnT iron ore in Nov’16, according to the trade statistics released by Taiwan customs.
Iron ore imports have witnessed a growth of 11% M-o-M as it was 2.15 MnT in Oct’16. Comparing the data for the month of Nov’15, Taiwan iron ore imports had a significant increase of 43% Y-o-Y which was 1.67 MnT previous year.
During the first 11 months of 2016, the country imported 21.23 MnT iron ore, up by 10.55% Y-o-Y as it was 19.20 MnT in the same period prior to this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Nov’16 was registered at 2.88 MnT, up by 21% M-o-M and 37% Y-o-Y compared with the same month last year. However, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.10 MnT, considerably down by 61% M-o-M and 100% up Y-o-Y comparing the corresponding months for years 2015 and 16.
