Taiwan Iron Ore Import Down by 9% M-o-M in Aug’17

Taiwan, the world’s sixth largest iron ore importer has imported 2.08 MnT iron ore in Aug’17, according to the trade statistics released by Taiwan customs.  Imports have decreased by 9% M-o-M as it was 2.29 MnT in Jul’17.

Taiwan has also decreased its imports by 4% Y-o-Y, as it was 2.17 MnT in Aug’16 last year. During the first 8 months of 2017, Taiwan imported 17.13 MnT iron ore up 13% compared to 15.16 MnT in the same period last year.

A non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) down by 1% M-o-M to 1.96 MnT in Aug’17 compared to 1.98 MnT in Jul’17 and it’s also down 2% Y-o-Y compared to same month last year which was 1.99 MnT then.

An agglomerated (pellets and concentrated) down by 61% M-o-M to 0.12 MnT in Aug’17 compared to 0.31 MnT in Jul’17 and it’s also down by 33% Y-o-Y compared to same month last year which was 0.18 MnT then.

Country-wise Taiwan Iron Ore Imports-:

Taiwan has imported 1.61 MnT iron ore from Australia followed by Brazil 0.21 MnT, Canada 0.19 MnT and Ukaraine 0.07 MnT.
