Taiwan: FPG Seeks Imported Coal for Power Plant

Formosa Plastic group (FPG), Taiwan’s private sector conglomerate, has floated two prompt thermal coal tenders for its power plants. The company is engaged in several businesses such as oil refining, petrochemicals, plastic raw materials, secondary processing of plastics, fiber and textile, electronic materials, machinery, and transportation.

In the first tender, FPG seeks an unspecified volume of thermal coal with a minimum calorific value of 5500 NAR to be delivered to the Mailio port over 10 Nov’18-15 Dec’18.

The bidder is required to deliver the coal shipment on Cape Vessel, and should quote index-linked and fixed price for reference. FPG would consider only FoB term for this tender.

In the second tender, FPG again seeks an unspecified volume of thermal coal with minimum calorific value of 5500 NAR but of slightly different specification.

Besides, the bidder is required to deliver the coal shipment on Handy/ Panamax vessels to Taichung, Taipei, Kaohsiung and Suao ports over 1 Nov’18-31 Dec’18.

The bidder should quote their offers on both index-linked and fixed price, while FPG would consider both FoB and CFR shipments for this tender.
