Taiwan: Ferrous scrap imports drop 9% y-o-y in H1CY’24

Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 1.48 mnt in H1CY’24, down by 9% as compared to 1.62 mnt in CPLY.
On a m-o-m basis imports dropped by 15% reaching 2.37 mnt compared to 2.78 mnt in May’24.
Similarly, on a y-o-y basis, imports decreased by 12% compared to 2.70 mnt in Jun’23.
The US emerged as the leading exporter at 94,0201 t followed by Japan and Dominican Republic at 62,313 t and 15,816 t, respectively.
