Taiwan: Ferro Alloy Imports Down Marginally in CY’17

In CY’17, Taiwan witnessed a slight increase in imports by 1% to 0.72 MnT compared to 0.71 MnT in CY’16.

Taiwan has recorded marginal decline in imports in Dec’17 at 0.05 MnT as against 0.06 MnT in Nov’17. The Y-o-Y imports witnessed a decline of 17% in Dec’17 as against 0.06 MnT in Dec’16.

In CY’17, Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese, and Silico Manganese witnessed an increase of 10%, 9%, and 17% respectively. While Ferro Silicon imports by Taiwan remained stable on Y-o-Y basis. However, on monthly basis, all the sub-commodities were imported more-or-less in similar quantity.

For the year CY’17, Taiwan recorded highest imports from India at 0.20 MnT, followed by South Africa at 0.16 MnT and China at 0.11 MnT. India exported 0.02 MnT in Dec’17 against 0.03 MnT in Nov’17. On the similar parameter South Africa, China, and Malaysia exported a quantity of 0.01 MnT each.
