Taiwan: CSC’s steel sales up marginally m-o-m in Jan’21

Taiwan’s leading steel company – China Steel Corporation (CSC) sold around 874,804 t of carbon steel in Jan’21 with 71% domestic sales. Sales increased marginally on m-o-m basis compared to 863,880 t in Dec’20 while the same increased by 7.7% y-o-y against Jan’20. In response to the allocation of production and sales, the production capacity will be reduced by 10% in Apr’21, and the overhaul of the No. 2 blast furnace (approximately 24.2% of production capacity) which was originally planned to begin in Oct’20 will be started by the end of Jul’21, the company said.
