Taiwan has recorded highest Billet imports in CY’18 since 2013, as per the custom data maintained by SteelMint.
On yearly comparison, country’s Billet imports recorded at 3.73 MnT during Jan-Dec’18 increase by 9% as compared to previous year CY’17 at 3.41 MnT.
Based on monthly analysis, Taiwan’s Billet import recorded at 0.42 MnT in Dec’18, up by 24% as against 0.34 MnT in Nov’18. However on yearly premises Billet imports was down by 18% as against 0.51 MnT in Dec’17.
In the duration of Jan-Dec’18, Japan remains the largest Billet exporter to Taiwan with a contribution of 1.77 MnT (47.51%), followed by Russia 0.94 MnT (25.24%) & Vietnam 0.3 MnT (8.11%).
— The latest price assessment of Billet exports stood at USD 435-445/MT FOB India (150*150mm, IS 2830), USD 455-460/MT FOB Ukraine (125*125mm, 3sp) & USD 380-385/MT FOB Iran (130*130mm, 3sp).
Taiwan Finish Long Steel Exports
–Taiwan has exported about 1.05 MnT finish long steel during Jan-Dec’18 as against 0.96 MnT in the previous year, up by 9%.
–On monthly basis, Taiwan’s total finish long exports stood at 0.07 MnT in Dec’18, moved down by 13% which was about 0.08 in Nov’18; both down by 13% on M-o-M and Y-o-Y.
–Australia was the largest importer for Taiwan’s finish long steel with a contribution of 0.22 MnT (21.34%), followed by South Korea 0.10 MnT (9.49%), US 0.10 MnT (9.17%), Thailand 0.09 MnT (8.77%) & China 0.08 MnT (7.87%).
