South Korea: Major steel mills to increase domestic scrap prices by $15/t

South Korea’s major steelmakers are increasing domestic scrap procurement prices by KRW 20,000/t ($15/t) effective 2 Sep’22, as per a Steel Daily report. Hyundai Steel, Dongkuk, and SeAH (Besteel and Changwon) will lift prices for their plants. Also, POSCO will raise prices for all grades of scrap for the Pohang and Gwangyang plants.
