Around 5,250 t of UK/EU-origin shredded scrap in containers was booked at $540-550/t CFR Qasim recently. SteelMint’s assessment for shredded scrap import prices into Pakistan stands at $540/t CFR, up $5/t on a w-o-w basis. Mills are procuring scrap actively owing to a sudden hike in steel prices.
