Around 10,500 t of UK/EU-origin shredded scrap in containers was booked at $552-555/t CFR Qasim recently. SteelMint’s assessment for shredded scrap import prices into Pakistan stands at $555/t CFR, up slightly by $2/t d-o-d. Higher offers from suppliers, easing weather conditions and positive domestic steel market sentiments support scrap import bookings.
