Sweden, the world’s sixth largest iron ore exporter has exported 1.87 MnT iron ore in Sept’16, according to the trade statistics released by European Union customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a downfall of 16% M-o-M as it was 2.22 MnT in Aug’16. On the contrary, Sweden iron ore exports moved up by 42% Y-o-Y as it was 1.32 MnT in Sept’15.
During the first nine months of 2016, the country exported 16.98 MnT iron ore, up by 16% Y-o-Y as it was 14.56 MnT in the same period prior this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) export in Sept’16 was registered at 0.34 MnT, significantly down by 8% M-o-M and 62% Y-o-Y. On similar, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) export was registered at 1.53 MnT, down by 17% M-o-M and 38% Y-o-Y.
