Supreme Court hearing on Sesa Goa's iron ore export appeal on July 7         

Sesa Goa's appeal to the state government regarding exports of Iron ore lying at various sites in Goa, that was mined before the Supreme Court imposed mining ban will be looked into soon.

The Supreme Court has sought response from the state government and would take up the case for hearing on July 7.

Sesa Goa has a 10 MT Iron ore production capacity at Goa i.e. South Goa 7 MT and North Goa 3 MT and also derives iron ore output from several satellite mines and Sesa Resources mines.

The company has remarked that the environment would be impacted as iron ore lying at Goa mines would be washed away once monsoon arrives.

The ban on exports is affecting Sesa Goa by Rs 80 crore on fixed cost each quarter and causing impact on 25% of the state's domestic product.
