The Supreme Court's hearing to lift ban on Category B mines in Karnataka is scheduled to take place today at around 2 pm.
More than 40 mines might get clearances once the hearing is finalized.
Earlier in September, ban on 18 Category A mines in Karnataka were lifted who were either free of any illegality or had committed marginal illegalities in their mining operations.
Similarly in Goa, the case of ban on mining activities has been taken to the Supreme Court and it is also expected to be heard today.
