SteelMint’s daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 41,200/tonne (t) (+ INR 200/t) exw-Raipur on 28 November, 2022. The index rose on account of higher offers floated by the suppliers due to the rise in steel prices in the northern region. However; spot trades of billets dropped to around 1,970 t on 28 November as against 2,350 t on 26 November in Raipur.
SteelMint’s daily sponge iron, CDRI, index was assessed at INR 30,700/tonne (t) (- INR 250) exw-Rourkela on 28 November, 2022. Even though the index decreased on unclear market trends, trading increased as some buyers began purchases again, leading to an increase in spot trades. About 2,950 t of transactions were recorded on 28 November as against 2,300 t on 26 November.
