SteelMint’s billet index decreased marginally by INR 150/tonne (t) to INR 47,350/t exw-Raipur on 25 January, 2023. Billet prices dropped due to sluggish steel demand and limited trade. Transactions of around 2,300 t were recorded on 25 January in Raipur as against 4,050 t on 24 January.
India sponge iron prices fluctuated across regions today. Prices were on the higher side during the first half of the trading session amid rising steel prices in the northern region. About 16,300 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 25 January in India as against 18,900 t on 24 January.
