STC Invites EoI for LAM Coke Supply

The State Trading Corporation of India Limited, or STC, is seeking expression of interest for empanelment of associate suppliers for supplying domestic or indigenous Low Ash Metallurgical (LAM) coke to the corporation as well as its buyers.

To be eligible for participating, the prospective bidders should:

1) Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in supplying LAM coke (domestic/ imported) to steel plants or other consumers.

2) Have executed a minimum supply of 50,000 MT of LAM coke (domestic/imported) either directly or through PSUs to any Indian or overseas consumer, and documentary evidence has to be produced in the context.

3) Mention location(s), and month-wise as well as year-wise production capacities of the owned Coke Oven plant, if any. Moreover, information on the actual production undertaken during the last two years, and source of coking coal for operating the coke oven(s) have to be furnished.

4) Have valid PAN numbers, TIN number and Trade Licenses, in addition to registration certificates with various tax authorities or government departments.

5) Submit an affidavit by the owner/proprietor of the company certifying that the suppliers have not been debarred /blacklisted for doing business by any government agencies/state agencies/ STC.

6) Be profit-making with positive net worth for the last three years. Also, solvency certificate has to be submitted from the regular bankers for a minimum amount of INR 25 crore, or the equivalent USD.

The last date for submission of the expression of interest has been fixed on 10 May’17.

As a matter of fact, Met coke production in India is on a declining path during the recent fiscals due to excessive dumping by China.
