Sri Lanka’s major power station, Norochcholai, has been facing operational hurdles amid supply shortage resulting from delay in coal procurement. The plant has 3 generators having daily coal consumption of 2,500 t each, of which one has been shut down. Notably, a shipment from Mozambique is expected to reach Puttalam by Jan’23 that was initially scheduled to dock this week.
