Spot iron ore prices slip on thin
trading from Chinese buyers ahead of next week's Lunar New Year holiday.

Offers for Indian fines Fe
63.5/63 falls to reach $147-148/MT i.e. down by $2-3/MT from the previous quotes.

It was also reported that
Australian cargo fetched lower bids ahead of the holidays.  BHP sold Newman iron ore fines at $143.5 a
tonne, C&F, lower than the previous $145.5, and Yandi fines at $127.8
versus $128.5 earlier, traders said.            

“Some traders are not
offering cargoes on the spot market anymore because they might not get firm
bids with just days before Chinese New Year,” said an iron ore trader in
Shanghai.
