Spot Iron ore prices in China nearing $200/MT for 63.5/63 Fe cargo (CNF) on tighter supplies.*
Tight seaborne supplies of iron ore should also keep prices firm. India’s Supreme Court on Friday delayed a hearing on a 6-1/2-month ban on
iron ore exports from its Karnataka state to April 4 from mid-February. Indian exportres are holding their stock as they expect prices to go up further.” There are few cargoes available in the market, buying interest is decent from Chinese traders. Spot Prices have reached record high though few mills are hesitant to stock up at these levels.” said an Indian exporter based in Hyderabad.
