Spot iron ore price inches up ahead of China holiday

The spot price of iron ore Fe 62% fines moved higher by $2.95/t day-on-day to $219.95/t, CFR China, on 11 Jun’21 as trading activities remained active ahead of China’s Dragon Boat festival on 14 Jun. According to market sources, mainstream fines cargoes saw firm demand. The optimism for low-grade iron ore fines prices weakened as steelmakers continued to prefer mainstream medium- to high-grade fines amidst expectations of tighter environmental controls.
