Special Report: JSPL increases Pellet Supply in Merchant Market M-o-M

Total Iron pellet movement through railway has increased by 33% in August, 2014 as compared to July. Total 83 rakes of Pellet were supplied in the domestic market against 62 rakes in July.

It is noticeable that Pellet movement of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) to merchant market has increased to 33 rakes in August against 15 rakes in July, 2014. Each rake carries approx 3,850 MT. Market participants also mentioned that JSPL is supplying Pellet to Aryan Ispat & Aarti Steel on conversion basis.

Brahmani River Pellets with an installed capacity of 4 MnT pa has supplied total 37 rakes of Pellet, out of which Monnet Ispat loaded 10 rakes, Tata Steel loaded 7 rakes and the rest loaded by other companies.

Chhattisgarh based Prakash Industry has loaded total 14 rakes of Pellet, out of which 7 rakes by Jindal Power & Steel, 4 rakes by MSP Sponge and the rest by others.
