SteelMint Introduces Special Report on
“Iron Ore Railway Movement”
Iron pellet plays an important role in India’s Sponge iron (DRI) making. With easy availability and quick delivery, Pellets is a preferred source of raw material for Sponge makers.
With this report we have tried to find out how much movement of merchant Pellets have took place through railways. It was also observed that Sponge makers based in West Bengal & Jharkhand contributes almost 85% of total Pellet movement by rakes.
Sponge makers in Chhattisgarh prefer Iron ore from NMDC or Pellets available in the state by Sarda, GPIL and Bajrang (which is through trucks).
Sponge makers in Karnataka uses truck for movement of Pellets as most of the plants in the radius of 200 kms.
