Spain Finished Steel Exports Statistics- Jan’19

In the month of Jan’19, the crude steel production of Spain was around 1,135,000 MT and in CY19 (Jan-Feb) it was approximately 2,315,000 MT. Meanwhile, in CY18 (Jan-Feb) the figure of crude steel production stood at 2,285,000 MT, according to the World Steel Association.

In CY 2018, the total Finished steel exports reported at around 7,638,569 MT,decline marginally by 4.5% on yearly basis as against 8,001,359 MT in CY 2017.

Spain majorly exported Finished flat steel to France (23.82%), Portugal (15.25%) & Italy (11.89%). Inline Finished long steel it largely exported to France (19.34%), United Kingdom (10.36%) & Belgium (9.56%) in CY18.

Spain Flat Steel Exports Surge by 39% M-o-M in Jan’19

Nation’s flat steel exports surge by 39% on monthly basis to 222,245 MT in Jan’19 in comparison with 159,579 MT in Dec’19.

Whereas on yearly premises the exports registered an increase of 5% in Jan’19 against 211,365 MT in Jan’18.

Major flat steel importing nations in Jan’19 included France at 59,104 MT, and Italy 27,395 MT. Other major importing nations include Portugal and Morocco at 22,764 MT & 19,720 MT of flat steel imports from Spain.

Meanwhile other nation like USA, Germany, Algeria, Mexico, Poland, Turkey and others procured materials in smaller quantities in Jan’19.

Spain Finished Long steel exports inched up 3.4% M-o-M in Jan’19

Country’s long steel exports in Jan’19 stood at 369,838 MT, increased by 3.4% as compared to 357,838 MT in Dec’18.

On yearly premises exports plunged by 2% in Jan’19 as compared to 377,333 MT in Jan’18.

Major finished long steel buyers of Spain were France at 91,944 MT, United Kingdom 45,630 MT and Belgium 30,659 MT in Jan’19.
