South Korean Pig Iron Import Remains Stable in Sept’16

South Korea, the world’s fourth largest Pig iron importer has imported 0.03 MnT Pig iron in Sept’16 according to trade statistics released by South Korean customs.

Country’s Pig iron imports remained stable on M-o-M basis . On Y-o-Y basis, Pig iron imports dropped down by 40% in Sept’16 as compared to 0.05 MnT in Sept’15.

In the first nine months of 2016, the country’s imports were registered at 0.29 MnT, down by 12% as compared to 0.33 MnT in the same time period prior this year.

The country imports majority of Pig iron from Russia and China. In Sept’16, imports from Russia was registered at 0.02 MnT and from China it was 0.01 MnT.
