According to customs data of South Korea, country’s flat steel exports under HS code 7208 (hot rolled products), 7209 (cold rolled products), and 7225 (electrical sheets) have registered an increase of 3.6% M-o-M basis in Aug’16. The same is recorded at 1.41 MnT in Aug’16 against 1.36 MnT in Jul’16.
However, if Y-o-Y comparison is done country’s flat steel exports have registered a fall 4.08% in Aug’16 against Aug’15. The flat steel exports of South Korea in Aug’15 was recorded at 1.47 MnT.
In first eight months of 2016 from Jan-Aug, South Korea’s flat steel exports are recorded at 10.67 MnT, which was recorded at 11.21 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.
In current year, the country’s flat products exports are majorly directed towards China followed by Japan and US.Out of the total exports of 10.68 MnT in eight months of 2016, exports to India are recorded at 1.12 MnT.
