South Korea: Thermal coal import shipments from Russia down by 6% in April

South Korea’s thermal coal imports from Russia were at 1.5 mn t in April, down by 6% m-o-m, customs data showed as old consignment made their way to the country amid sanctions. The country had imposed a SWIFT ban against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. Overall thermal coal imports fell by 12% m-o-m to 6 mnt amid elevated prices.
