South Korea: Steel billet imports drop 5%, m-o-m, in Aug’22

South Korea’s steel billet imports fell by 5% m-o-m to 108,498 t in Aug’22 from 114,190 t in July, as per customs data.
Japan was the largest exporter at 97,148 t, followed by Vietnam at 9,995 t.
However, import volumes rose by 22% to 1.17 mnt in Jan-Aug’22 as against 958,809 t in the year-ago period.
