South Korea: POSCO commissions new slab grinding unit at Pohang works

South Korean steelmajor POSCO has commissioned a new HGS300-slab grinding unit by Danieli Centro Maskin at the STS1 plant in Pohang steelworks. This new grinder is equipped with 250-kW motor on the main unit and is able to produce 140-220 mm thick stainless steel slabs of up to 1.65 mm width and 10.5 mm length, to ensure approx. 200,000 t pa output.
