POSCO has began construction of a non-oriented electrical steel sheet plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 t at its Gwangyang works. The steel major has invested about KRW 1 trillion and expects demand to improve by 20% to 4 mnt by CY’33 from 320,000 t in CY’20. POSCO has a total annual production capacity of 830,000 t, including 100,000 t of high-efficiency non-oriented electrical steel sheet.
